22 November 2011, Kuala Lumpur – In the SEA Games, the chess event was totally dominated by the Vietnamese as they won six gold from 9 events.
Next was Philippines with 1 gold from the Men Blitz event and Indonesia one gold from the Men Standard event.
Malaysia ended the SEA Games tour with one bronze medal from the Mixed Pair won by IM Lim Yee Weng and WFM Nur Najiha bt Azman Hisham.
One game from round 5, Standard Chess of Jimmy Liew, Malaysia against Thailands’ Teerapabpaisit Wisuwat.
