Nur Nabila’s Winning Game In The 7th Round, Asian Games 2010

image 16 November 2010, Kuala Lumpur – In the seventh round of the Individual Women Rapid Chess, WCM Nur Nabila of Malaysia (pix left) met Nodirjano A Nodiraa of Uzbekistan at the Asian Games in Guangzhou, China yesterday, 15 November 2010. Nodirjano has a rating of 2149 while Nur Nabila’s rating is 1845.

The Queen’s Gambit Accepted transpired during the game.

On the 27th move, white played 27.Be3 attacking the rook at a7. Black subsequently made the losing move 27…Ra8, losing the Bishop at b7 en prise as the white rook on c7 takes the undefended piece.

It can be traced to the 18th weak black move 15…Qc5??.

Nur Nabila brilliantly checkmates black on the 43rd move, 43.Rdf7# with the help of two rooks on the seventh rank and a bishop. Clearly white was ahead by a mile in this game and Nur Nabila showed her superiority in this game. Simply fantastic stuff from Malaysia’s WCM Nur Nabila!
