12 November 2010, Kuala Lumpur – The ASIAN Games 2010 is being held in Guangzhou, China. The first time that chess made its debut was in Doha, 2006 during the 15th Asian Game and this is the second time that chess is being played.
The competition schedule for chess is shown below:-
Malaysia has sent a team comprising of three players. Among them are IM Mok Tze Meng (pix above), Alia Anin Azwa bt Bakri (pix below) and Nur Nabila bt Azman Hisham (pix left).
They start rounds 1 individual events tomorrow, Saturday, 13 November 2010 until 16 November 2010. The chess team events begin 18 November 2010 and will continue until 26 November 2010. Fortunately for the muslim players, they will get a rest day on the 17th November 2010, which is the Hari Raya Aidil Adha.
