24 September 2010, Khanty-Mansiysk – In third round of the chess Olympiad 2010, Malaysia draws against Lithuania, 2-2 in the Men’s team open event. IM Mas ensured a win on board 1 while NM Tan Khai Boon lost his game on board 3. Both IM Mok and FM Peter Long drew their board games against stronger Lithuanian opponents.
Malaysia will now meet Switzerland, the 47th ranked team in the fourth round today.
Below are the individual performances of the Malaysian men’s chess team in Siberia, Russia. IM Mas is the only player that has maintained a steady record of play in all three rounds without losing a board game.
