Carlsen Prevailed Round 7, Biel 2012

Magnus Carlsen, Norway

31 July 2012, Kuala Lumpur – In Switzerland, Carlsen won his round 7 game against Wang Hao and has caught up with Wang on the leaderboard. Both Magnus Carlsen and Wang Hao are on 13 points.

Meanwhile the other two games ended in draws, allowing Carlsen to catapult to joint first with Wang Hao. Giri – Nakamura and Bologan – Bacrot were drawn games.







Here is the round 7 game between GM Wang Hao, China and GM Magnus Carlsen, Norway which gave Carlsen a huge black win in a Queens Indian Defense opening during the Biel Chess Festival 2012. There is also an analysis of this game in the ICC by GM David Smerdon of Australia.
