Postponement Of INSOFAR Events

4 July 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here is an official announcement from INSOFAR Chess Academy on its postponement of its 10th July 2011 chess events to 18th September 2011.

 

Players are encouraged to participate in the upcoming HillCrest Chess Championship or in the Perak Grand Prix Chess Final 2011.

Upcoming DATCC Events

26 April 2011, Kuala Lumpur – The DATCC Management has announced one new tournament and a reminder for two other tournaments for the month of May 2011.

Three RAPID Chess Weekends starting from 8^th May to 22^nd May to satisfy chess players of all age and playing strength. All entry forms, and information about the three events are as per attached for your references and perusals.

On 8^th May, DATCC will be hosting the Insofar Chess Weekend with 4 events for chess players to choose from including a Junior event for players below 12 years old with plenty of prizes up for grabs!

On 15^th May, DATCC will assist in the running of the Ampang Chessmaster event to be held at Medan Selera Ampang Waterfront. With more than 20 prizes up for grabs, and a prize fund of more than RM 2,000, this event is organized by Ampang Jaya Chess Club together with the YB Ampang MP office.

Then on 22^nd May 2011, DATCC weekender event returns with the DATCC Warrior Rapid Chess Weekend. This is the 3^rd edition for 2011 with added prizes (from Champion to the 10^th placing – previously, it was only until 6^th placing) and increased prize fund for the top 4 winners. This is definitely an event not to be missed!!! Entry fee is RM30 for adults and RM20 for children below 12 years old

Both the Ampang Chessmaster and the DATCC Warrior Rapid Chess Weekend will be Nationally Rated….

Final Results Of INSOFAR ELITE OPEN, Scholarship and Prestige

7 March 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here are some final results of three tournaments held yesterday at the Dato’ Arthur Tan Chess Centre organised by INSOFAR CHESS ACADEMY. The Insofar Elite Open Preliminary 3 was won by Sumant Subramaniam (top left) with 4 full points from 4 rounds of play.

While Subramaniam Sivanesan (top right) won the Insofar Junior Scholarship Tournament held simultaneously at DATCC as the Insofar Elite Open Preliminary 3. Subramaniam scored the full 4 points from 4 rounds of play.

Fikri Saleh became the winner of the Insofar Prestige Junior Quarterfinal Chess tournament scoring 4 full points from four rounds of play.

Sumant Wins Insofar Elite Preliminary 3

6 March 2011, Kuala Lumpur – At the DATCC, Sumant Subramaniam (pix) won the Insofar Elite Preliminary 3 held over 4 rounds of play today. 14 players participated including father Subramaniam Demudu, brother, Shreyes and sister, Sarika. Other strong players included Mohd Fairin Zakaria, Mohd Nabil Azman Hisham, Nur Nabila AH, Nur Najiha AH, Andrew Ooi (aka gilachess) and Mohd Zullghafari Saparmin.

Most of the youngsters are sparring and getting ready for the upcoming National Age Group chess championship in Tronoh, Perak next weekend. While others are sparring for the upcoming National Close Chess Championship 2011 later the same week at DATCC.

2nd INSOFAR ELITE Open – 3rd Chance

2 March 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here is the flyer for the 2nd Insofar ELITE Open Tournament 2011, Preliminary 3 to be held on the 6th March 2011 (Sunday) at the Dato’ Arthur Tan Chess Center, Kuala Lumpur.

Prize money is among the highest so far – RM2,000 for the Champion.
