30 August 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here is the Final Ranking list of the Excel Senior FIDE Rated Tournament held in July/August 2011

Equal first went to Jax Tham and Gregory Lau with 9 points each. Equal third went to Choo Min Wang, Eddy Kwan Nam Seng and Wahid Karim with 7 points each..

The rest is as shown below from 6th – 12th placing.

Final Standings Excel Senior FIDE-Rated 2011

19 August 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here is the confirmatory final complete standings of the concluded Excel Senior FIDE-Rated Tournament July / August 2011 held at DATCC over several weekends in July and August 2011.

Greg Lau (Pix above) and Jax Tham are in joint first with 9 points. In joint third position are Choo and Eddy Kwan with 7.5 points each. In fifth place is Wahid Karim with 7 points. Sixth rank went to Bernard Ng with 6.5 points while Subramaniam with 6 points, ended in seventh position. Tail-enders in sequence are CMF, Abu, Ibrahim Yaacob, Dato Tan Chin Nam and Sirajudeen.

Jax, Greg Joint First, Excel Senior

14 August 2011, Kuala Lumpur - At the Excel Senior FIDE-Rated Tournament held at DATCC, both Jax Tham and Greg Lau have secured 9 points each and are joint first. In third place is Eddy Kwan with 7.5 points, while early favorite, Wahid Karim ended with 7.0 points in fourth position. Bernard Ng slowed down and has 6.0 points to show for his efforts. Ng has one game to go though.

Jax Tham In The Lead, Excel Senior

8 August 2011, Kuala Lumpur – At the Excel Senior FIDE-Rated Tournament July/August 2011, Jax Tham (pix below) is convincingly in the driver’s seat with 8 points. Closing behind him are Eddy Kwan, second with 7.5 points and Greg Lau, third with 7 points.

Jax Tham Surges Ahead At Excel Senior

1 August 2011, Kuala Lumpur - Latest at Senior Excel FIDE-Rated, Jax Tham surges ahead with 7 points with a two point lead over second placed Greg Lau who has scored 5 points so far.

Quietly in third place is Eddy Kwan with 4 points. Bernard Ng and Subramaniam are in joint fourth with 3.5 points each. Top seeded, Wahid Karim has only 2.5 points from five games with one win, 3 draws and one loss to-date.

Jax Leads In Senior Excel

25 July 2011, Kuala Lumpur - latest results of the Senior Excel FIDE-Rated Chess Tournament. Jax Tham leading with 5.5 points and Greg Lau in second place with 3.0 points.

Excel Senior FIDE-Rated Tournament July/Aug 2011

6 July 2011, Kuala Lumpur – The Excel Chess Academy is organising its last tournament Excel Senior FIDE-Rated Tournament July / August 2011, 15th July-14 August 2011, at its current location in Overseas Union Garden, Kuala Lumpur. Jax Tham, the owner of Excel Chess Academy, announced that the current place of Excel Chess Academy will close shop after this Excel Senior tournament is completed before the end of this month.

 

A new set of veteran chess players have decided to join the fray to gain precious FIDE-Rated points by playing in this swan song tournament at the current location of Excel Chess Academy in OUG. Among them are Dato’ Tan Chin Nam, Mr. Subramaniam, En. Sirajuddin, En. Abdul Hamid Majid, Mr. Eddy Kwan of Johor Baharu, Mr Greg Lau, En. Wahid Karim and others as shown in the table above.
