Ian Udani Wins Hill Crest Open 2011

11 July 2011, Kuala Lumpur – The Chess Open Tournament held at SMK Hill Crest today was won by Ian Udani (pix above) with 5.5 points from six rounds of play. Second was IM Mas, followed by Cheah Cheok Fun and fourth, IM Jimmy Liew.

A total of 480++ participants took part in the age-group and open chess tournament held today at SMK Hill Crest. IM Mok Tze Meng and Ms Wong Yen Lee were instrumental in successfully getting the tournament organised with plenty of help from the attendees of the equally successful Arbiters’ Seminar recently held in Kuala Lumpur.

 

1st SMK HillCrest Chess Championship 2011

13 June 2011, Kuala Lumpur – This is a repeat announcement of the 1st SMK Hill Crest Chess Championship 2011 to be held on the 10th July 2011. IM Mok Tze Meng is one of the organisers of this chess event. There will be five categories. The organisers are targeting 500 players to participate in this event.

1st SMK HillCrest Chess Championship 2011

17 May 2011, Kuala Lumpur – Here is one new chess tournament being organised by SMK HillCrest, Taman Seri Gombak, Batu Caves, Kuala Lumpur on the 10th July 2011 at the school premises. It is called the 1st SMK HillCrest Chess Championship 2011. There will be five categories – Under-9, Under-12, Under-15, Under-18 and Open. The poster is as shown below.
