Ian Udani Wins Stonemaster’s 1Malaysia Open

28 December 2010, Kuala Lumpur – Last Sunday the Stonemaster’s 1Malaysia Chess Open was held at the playing hall of the DATCC, 4th Floor, Wilayah Complex, Kuala Lumpur and a huge 118 players participated. Ian Udani won the SM’s 1Malaysia Rapid Open with 6.5 points after seven Swiss rounds of play and Jasur Madjiduv, the new Sarawak Open champion, was in second place with 6.0 points and third was Suhaidi Mustapha, also with 6.0 points.

 

The tournament was a huge success as the turnout was a new record of 118 players. This is the first time that the DATCC has been filled up to the brim. Hopefully we will continue to witness record turnouts at this chess  centre for future chess tournaments.

Stonemaster’s 1Malaysia Open – Huge Turnout!

25 December 2010, Kuala Lumpur – Chess enthusiasts around the Klang Valley inundated the playing hall of the Stonemaster’s 1Malaysia Open Chess Tournament at the DATCC, 4th Floor, Wilayah Complex, Kuala Lumpur.

A few familiar faces included Sarawak Open Champion, Jaisur Madjiduv, Ian Udani, Suhairi Hussin, Abdullah Che Hassan, Ahmad Fadzil Nayan, S Balendran, Salam Maamor, Syukri, Fikri Saleh, Suhaimi Alias and Muhammad Arshad of Terengganu.

A record turnout of 118 players were playing on 59 chess boards in the seven round swiss chess event of the SM’s 1Malaysia Chess Tournament today.
