Hemant Satish, Boys U9 Champion, Davidson Chess Open 2010

15 November 2010, Kuala Lumpur – Here are the results of the boys under-9 age category for the Davidson Chess Open 2010 held on Sunday, 14 November 2010 at the Cochrane Sports Excellence Center. There were 72 players that participated in this age-category alone.

Hemant Sathish came out tops with 6 points from 6 rounds of play, a perfect 6.0 score!

In second was Yee Jian Yang with 5.0 points and third was Lye Lik Zang also with 5.0 points.

Tin Jun Hao Wins Boys Under-12, Davidson Chess Open

15 November 2010, Kuala Lumpur – In the boys under-12 age category, Tin Jun Hao emerged as the new Jalan Davidson Chess Open 2010 champion with 5.5 points beating 66 other boys held at the Pusat Kecemerlangan Sukan Cochrane, Kuala Lumpur on the 14th November 2010. Tin Jun Hao was also the October 2010, No Frills Chess Champion at Excel Chess Academy! The event is a rapid 6 round swiss chess event organised by Colin Madhavan of kids4chess.com/Cheras Chess Academy.

In second place was Shum Rui Yuan with 5.0 points. Shum is a regular active chess participant at the Excel Chess Academy.

In third place is Darrel Yap, also with 5.0 points.

Liew Ken Yew Is The Boys U-16 Champion, Davidson Open 2010

15 November 2010, Kuala Lumpur – At the Boys Under-16 Age Category of the Jalan Davidson Chess Open held at the Pusat Kecemerlangan Sukan Cochrane last Sunday, 14 November 2010 was won by Liew Ken Yew with 5.0 points from six rounds of rapid chess. Liew beat 39 other chess participants in the Boys Under-16 category.

In second place was Andrew Soong with 5.0 points. Andrew is a frequent participant of chess tournaments held at Excel Chess Academy.

In third place was Derek Poon Guo Liong with 5.0 points, just losing out on tie-break points.

Olivia, Karthika, Melanie Won The Girls Davidson Chess Open

15 November 2010, Kuala Lumpur – In the Girls  Davidson Chess Open 2010, Olivia Madhavan won the Girls 16 category with 6 points beating 11 other girls in the same category.

Meanwhile Alakarthika Ulaganathan won the Girls 12 category with 6 full points beating 15 other girls in her category.

While Melanie Koo Wei Wei won the Girls 9 category with 6 full points beating 17 other girls in the same category.

Final rankings of all the three girls categories 16, 12 and 9 are shown below.
